Job Title: Airport Loader

The Airport Loader plays a vital role in the efficient ground handling of aircraft. This position is responsible for loading and unloading passenger luggage, cargo, and mail, operating ground support equipment, and ensuring aircraft are serviced and ready for timely departure. It is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Airport Loaders are often the backbone of the ground operations team and are essential for maintaining tight airline schedules.
Job Responsibilities:
Load and unload baggage, cargo, mail, and other materials to and from aircraft, baggage carts, and belt loaders.
Ensure timely and accurate handling of passenger luggage and cargo, minimizing delays and damage.
Safely operate a variety of ground support equipment including belt loaders, tugs, dollies, pushback tractors, and de-icing machines.
Marshal aircraft to and from gates, ensuring safe aircraft movement on the ramp.
Secure and transport baggage to and from aircraft, terminals, and sorting areas.
Perform aircraft cabin and cargo hold security checks as required by airport security regulations.
Follow detailed loading instructions and use weight and balance charts to ensure the aircraft is properly loaded.
Communicate and coordinate with flight crews, ground crew, and air traffic control to ensure efficient ramp operations.
Maintain awareness of safety procedures and ensure a safe working environment at all times.
Report any damage, delays, or irregularities to supervisors immediately.
Assist with aircraft pushback and towing operations under supervision.
Conduct routine checks and maintenance of ground equipment to ensure serviceability.
Adhere to airline and airport guidelines, as well as national and international aviation regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in airport operations, warehousing, or logistics is preferred but not required.
Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain airport driving permits and security clearance.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 70 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
Ability to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
Must pass background checks and comply with all airport security protocols.
Work Conditions:
Full-time or part-time shift-based schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Outdoor, physically intensive environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and variable weather.
Uniform and safety gear required at all times.
